Arc Trips Policy on Non-discrimination, Harassment, and Equal Access

Last updated: May 9, 2025

At Arc Trips, we believe travel should be accessible to everyone. Our mission is to connect guests with exceptional experiences and we are firmly committed to ensuring these experiences are free from discrimination, harassment, and abuse. This commitment extends throughout our entire platform, affecting guests, providers, and all other partners associated with Arc Trips.

We explicitly prohibit any form of unlawful discrimination, bias, intolerance, harassment, or abuse on our platform. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual harassment and all forms of gender-based misconduct. We acknowledge that such behavior may occur within our operations, at accommodations, or during experiences booked through Arc Trips, and we take our responsibility to address these issues seriously.

Key Points

  • This statement establishes Arc Trips' commitment to experiences that are free from discrimination, harassment, and abuse

  • As an Arc Trips partner, you must comply with all applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws regarding accessibility and non-discrimination

  • Our platform provides mechanisms for guests, partners, and staff to report concerns about potential violations of this policy

  • We review all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action when necessary

Our Approach

While we require all partners on our platform to comply with applicable laws and regulations, we strive to exceed minimum legal standards. We encourage our partners to join us in this commitment to excellence.

In regions where local regulations may provide fewer protections than recognized human rights standards, we encourage adherence to the higher standards outlined in this statement, our platform's Terms of Service, and internationally recognized human rights frameworks.

If there is ever a conflict between local laws and broader human rights principles, we expect our partners to comply with legal requirements while seeking ways to respect human rights standards to the maximum extent possible without risking legal jeopardy or personal harm. Any legally mandated restrictions or limitations should be clearly indicated in listing descriptions and policies using factual, respectful language.

Our approach to non-discrimination, harassment, and equal access is informed by several international human rights frameworks, including but not limited to:

  • North American federal, state/provincial, and municipal human rights legislation

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Canadian Accessibility Acts

  • International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

  • Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women

  • Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

  • International Labor Organization (ILO) standards regarding workplace discrimination and harassment

Partner Responsibilities

As an Arc Trips partner, you have specific responsibilities regarding accessibility and non-discrimination:

  • You must comply with all applicable accessibility laws in your jurisdiction

  • Your listing must provide accurate, factual information about your property or experience's accessibility features

  • Any restrictions on service must be legally permissible and clearly stated in your listing

In line with industry standards, you may decline certain bookings for legitimate, lawful reasons. For example, properties or experiences that cannot accommodate children, pets, or have no-smoking policies. However, these restrictions must be:

  • Applied consistently to all potential guests

  • Clearly stated in your listing and policies

  • Compliant with applicable non-discrimination laws

You must provide accurate, factual information about:

  • Any legal restrictions that affect your ability to host certain guests

  • Physical features that could make your property or experience unsuitable for guests of certain ages, families with children, or guests with disabilities

Prohibited Discrimination

Unless expressly permitted by law, you may not impose different terms, conditions, or treatment based on characteristics including but not limited to:

  • Race, color, ethnicity, national origin, or language

  • Religion or political views

  • Sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression

  • Disability or health status

  • Age (except for reasonable, uniformly applied minimum age requirements)

  • Marital or family status

  • Place of residence or socioeconomic status

Specifically, you may not:

  • Charge additional fees based on a guest's protected characteristics

  • Impose surcharges for guests with disabilities, including fees for service animals

  • Deny entry to service or assistance animals in violation of accessibility laws

  • Apply different pricing or conditions based on age (outside of legally permitted age verification requirements)

  • Refuse service based on protected characteristics under federal, state/provincial, or local laws

Prohibition on Harassment and Abuse

You must not subject any individual or group to harassment, violence, or abuse of any form. This prohibition specifically includes:

  • Sexual harassment and gender-based violence

  • Verbal abuse or inappropriate comments

  • Unwelcome sexual advances or requests

  • Intimidating or threatening behavior

  • Any conduct that creates a hostile environment

Reporting Concerns

Arc Trips provides multiple channels to report concerns about potential violations of this policy:

  • For Partners: Contact us 24/7 through your Partner Dashboard or at the dedicated partner support number provided in your account

  • For Guests: Report concerns through the Help Center in your Arc Trips account or app

  • For Others: Contact us via our support form at [[insert email address]]{.mark}

We thoroughly review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include investigation, mediation, or removal from our platform.

Definitions

Discrimination refers to the unfair or unequal treatment of an individual or group based on personal characteristics protected by law, including race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, political views, sexual orientation, disability status, gender, gender identity, marital status, family status, or socioeconomic status.

Sexual and gender-based violence encompasses harmful acts directed against a person because of their gender or sexual orientation, including but not limited to sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking.

Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, particularly when submission to such conduct is made a condition of service or when such conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

Harassment and abuse refer to behaviors and practices that aim at, result in, or are likely to result in physical, psychological, sexual, or economic harm. This includes conduct ranging from physical assault to verbal comments that create a hostile environment.
