Arc Trips Requirements for Providers and Responsible Hosting Guidelines

Last updated: May 9, 2025

This document outlines the essential requirements and best practices for listing and managing your property on our platform. By adhering to these guidelines, you help ensure a positive experience for guests while operating within applicable regulations.

Provider Classification

Professional vs. Private Provider Status

In alignment with North American consumer protection standards, Arc Trips requires all property providers to self-identify as either a Professional Provider or a Private Provider.

Professional Provider Definition

A Professional Provider is any individual or entity offering accommodations or services as part of their primary business activity. This includes:

  • Property management companies

  • Hotels, motels, and traditional hospitality businesses

  • Individuals or entities who primarily earn their income through short-term rentals

  • Businesses that manage multiple properties

Private Provider Definition

A Private Provider is any individual offering accommodations outside their primary profession or business activities. This includes:

  • Homeowners renting a primary or secondary residence on an occasional basis

  • Individuals who rent properties seasonally or part-time

  • Those for whom rental income is supplementary rather than their main source of income

Self-Declaration Requirement

All providers must complete a one-time self-declaration through their Arc Trips dashboard. This classification:

  • Will be displayed on your property listing for transparency

  • Helps guests understand the nature of your operation

  • May affect applicable consumer protection regulations

  • Informs how Arc Trips presents your property to guests

Note: You are responsible for accurately determining your provider status. If your status changes (for example, if you transition from occasional renting to full-time property management), you must update your classification in the system.
